Faridabad,A Major Industrial Hub of Haryana 

Faridabad is one of the main industrial cities of India which is situated in the north Indian state of Haryana. The city is situated between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Gurgaon. It shares its boundaries with the National Capital and Union Territory of Delhi to its north, Gurgaon district to the west and Uttar Pradesh to its east and south. The district is surrounded by river Yamuna in the east and the Aravalli hills in south and west regions. The district of Faridabad has been categorized into five divisions namely Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Palwal and Hodal and is also rapidly growing in terms of economy, lifestyle, business, industrialization, infrastructure, real estate, education and health care. It is a major industrial hub of Harayana and is most famous for Heena Production on agriculture sector while tractors, motorcycles, refrigerators, switch gears, shoes and tyres are other famous industrial products of the city. There are about 200 large and medium units and 15000 small-scale units.

The Faridabad City was founded by Saikh Farid in 1607 A.D with the sole purpose of protecting the highway that passed through the town. It was 15th August, 1979 that Faridabad became the 12th district of Haryana. Shaikh Farid built a fort, a tank and a mosque which are in ruins. Later, it became the headquarters of a pargana which was held in jagir by the Ballabgarh ruler. The District Faridabad came into existence on 15th August, 1979 as the 12th District of the state Haryana.

Places To Visit 

Badhkal Lake
Badhkal Lake is an artificial lake which is located in the Badhkal village of Faridabad. The lake is encircled by the Aravali mountain range. The unimpeded mining in this place has led to the drying up of this lake. There is also a Peacock Lake located near Badhkal Lake. From this place, the tourists can enjoy a scenic view of the Aravali range.

Baba Farid's Tomb
Baba Farid's Tomb is the major tourist attraction of Faridabad. It is a commemoration of saint Baba Farid's life in Faridabad. The city is believed to be founded by him and thus named so. The tomb is duly visited by tourists from various parts of the country and is easily one of the most visited sites here in Faridabad.

Shirdi Sai Baba Temple
Shirdi Sai Baba Temple is one of the most famous temple in Faridabad. It is situated in Sector-16A of Faridabad which lies on the Badhkal-Surajkund Road. It covers an area of around 3 acres, with a hall spread over 560 sq. m and is also known as Sai Dham, The white marble edifice of Sai Baba is over 5.25 feet tall and attracts devotees from various places. This temple also houses idols of Dwaraka Mayee and Dhuni, which are kept at separate places inside the temple.

Dhauj Lake
Dhauj Lake is also one of the most popular tourist spot in Faridabad. It is situated in the Aravali mountain range and is considered to be the best rock climbing site near Faridabad. This lake is located at about 20 km from Faridabad on the main Faridabad-Sohna Road. It is a natural lake which dries up during the hot summer season and again gets filled with water during the monsoon season.

Nahar Singh Cricket Stadium
Nahar Singh Cricket Stadium is one of the most famous Stadium in Faridabad having a seating capacity of more than 25,000 spectators. It was built in 1981 and features 6 centre pitches, 3 practice pitches and an advanced pavilion having a suite of 200 seats. The stadium also houses a box for media, press box, umpire room, commentator box, president box, restaurant and billiards room. Within the stadium, visitors can also find a health club, card room, an outdoor tennis court and a coffee shop.
