Indore,The Food City 

Indore is one of the largest city which is situated in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The city of Indore is situated on the banks of the Rivers Saraswati and Khan. The city is famous for its magnificent temple and splendid monuments. A large number of tourists come to Indore just to see its natural beauty. The city is blessed with various historic importance that has varied age old forts, glorious palaces and elegantly carved temples that make them some of the best sightseeing attractions of Indore. The city of Indore is also termed as the ‘Food City’, due to its several special cuisines like the yummy Punjabi food, the strong spicy foods and Indian sweets. Indore city formerly was a major trading center, along with its townships of Pithampur and Dewas which itself emerged as a powerful industrial base.

The history of Indore is inseparable from the history of the Holkar State. The founder of the House of Holkars was Malhar Rao Holkar, born in 1693 AD. The Holkars of Indore took part in the battle against the Britishers in 1803. Their glory was razed to dust when they were finally beaten in the Third Anglo Maratha war IN 1817- 1818.The Holkar dynasty had to admit defeat and give up a large portion of the territories under them. Matters came to an extreme when the English started intervening in their succession right. Two of the successors abdicated under mysterious circumstances. The History of Indore became murkier and dark as days went by till the independence of India when in 1947 the state came under the dominion of India.

Indore is a very nice tourist place situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh. There are many forts, temples, gardens, museums and chruches in Indore. It is well connected with the major cities of the country through air, rail and road. Places to visit 

Rajwada Palace
Rajwada Palace is one of the most famous tourist place in Indore. It is an iconic structure of Indore which was built by Holkar Dynasty. The palace comprises two structures, one of which is located in the centre of the city and the other lies in the old part of the city. It is also popularly known as Holkar Palace.

Ganesh Temple
Ganesh Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temple in Indore. The temple is dedicated to lord Ganesha. Devotees throng this temple on Wednesdays and Sundays for offering prayers. The grandness and serenity of the temple attracts devotees, peace seekers and tourists in equal numbers.

Omkareshwar Temple
Omkareshwar Temple is one of the holiest of shrines and considered to be one of the 12 Jyotilinga shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. The unique aspect of this temple is that the island itself is shaped like the symbol of Om. There are two holy temples of Omkareshwar and Amareshwar that are visited by thousands of devotees every year

Meghdoot Upvan Garden
Meghdoot Upvan Garden is one of the most beautiful and largest gardens in Indore. The garden is known for its natural beauty in form of vibrant flowers, trees and landscapes. There are also a number of fountains inside the Meghdoot Upvan Garden which add to the mesmerizing appeal of the place.

Indore Museum
Indore Museum is one of the most popular museum located in Indore. This museum is a great place for history buffs or anyone who is interested in knowing more about the rich history of Indore city. It is home to a wide range of Parmar sculptures from Hinglajgarh and boasts of having a nice collection of coins and armour.
