Jamshedpur,The City of Steel 

Introduction 
Jamshedpur is an industrial city which is situated in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is one of the largest Urban Conglomeration and houses some of the best companies of the country like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, BOC Gases, Tata Technologies Limited, Praxair, TCE, TCS etc. The city is surrounded by the beautiful hills of Dalma and bordered by the river Subarnarekha and Kharkai in the north and west direction respectively. The city of Jamshedpur is popularly recognized as ‘the steel city of India’. It is the main centre of industrialization and development in the business sector that includes mineral resources consisting of coal, ore, iron, steel and cement production, truck manufacturing, lime, manganese and bauxite as well as tin plate production. The highest per capita revenue of the country is generated here. It is also known for its great architecture and was declared the seventh cleanest city in the country by the Government of India in the year 2010. Apart from this, Russi Modi Centre of Excellence, Bhatia Park, Dimna Lake, Hudco Lake, Jubilee Park, River Meet, Sir Dorabji Tata Park and Tata Steel Zoological Park are some of the prime attractions in Jamshedpur that lure the tourists from all around the world.

History 
The original name of Jamshedpur was Sakchi. In 1919, Sakchi was renamed as Jamshedpur in tribute to Tata Steel's Founder Jamshetji Nusserwanji Tata. A firm believer in industrial revolution, Jamsetji wanted to build a steel plant in India and was in search of a land. For further idea on industrial setup, he went to Pittsburgh where he met a noted geologist Charles Page Perin and asked him to find a right place for establishing India's first steel plant. After prolonged search for land, Tata finally came across a humble village called Sakchi, which was blessed with rich mineral resources like iron, coal and limestone. Attracted by the rich wealth, water and green hill region, Tata finely decided to set up his steel plant in Sakchi, which was later named as Jamshedpur in memory of its founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.

Jamshedpur is a nice tourist destination of Jharkhand. There are numerous beautiful as well as popular temples, mosques and churches situated in the city. Some of the major attractions of Jamshedpur include Jubilee Park, Tata Steel Zoological Park, Dimna Lake, Hudco Lake, Keenan Stadium, Bhuvaneshwari Temple and many more. Places to visit 

Jubilee Park
Jubilee Park is one of the most beautiful park located in the middle of the Jamshedpur city. It spreads over an area of 237 Acres and is also popularly known as the Mughal Garden. The park features colourful fountains, Jayanti Sarovar, Smriti Udyan and Foliage Park.

Tata Steel Zoological Park
Tata Steel Zoological Park is another tourist destination in Jamshedpur. This zoo is known for its Safari Park, which enables tourists to drive through the wooden area, where animals roam freely.

Dimna Lake
Dimna Lake is an Artificial Lake located at a distance of 13 kms away from the main city. This lake lies at the foot hills of Dalma Mountain ranges and also serves like a water reservoir for the steel plant and the main drinking water source.

Hudco Lake
Hudco Lake is one of the most beautiful and cleanest Lake situated in the city. This lake is surrounded by green fields and hill ranges that attract tourists. The crystal clear water of Hudco Lake is ideal for boating.
