Mohali,The Electronics Township Of Punjab
Mohali is a beautiful city and a commercial hub lying adjacent to the city of Chandigarh which is situated in the Northern state of Punjab. It is named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS Nagar), the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh. It is administrative headquarters of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District. The city has lush green surroundings, open and spacious places and ecosystems that sustain numerous bird species. Mohali City shares its Boundry with Chandigarh and panchkula. These three city commonly known as tricity of Punjab.The city has developed into one of the most significant sites for the IT industries. Headquarters of many IT companies such as Dell, Quark and Philips are located in Mohali. Apart from an industrial center, the city has many things to offer to the travelling multitude.
At the time of reorganization of Punjab in 1966, Chandigarh was kept out of Punjab. The village Mohali was developed as a satellite city of Chandigarh and was named as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. In 1983, it was made a Nagar Panchayat and thus became a town from a village. In 2006 district S.A.S. Nagar was created. Later it was renamed as Ajitgarh. Though its name has been changed in papers, people still call it Mohali.
Mohali is one of the most beautiful tourist destination in India where number of tourist comes for their vacation. There are many shopping and commercial centers that give the tourists an opportunity to buy things that have essence of the local place. There are many places to visit in Mohali are Radha Krishan mandir, Shri satya Narayan Mandir, Sanatan dhram temple, Mohali Cricket Stadium, Rock Garden, Mansa Devi temple, Sukhna Lake and many more. The city is also famous for the Mohali Cricket Stadium that plays a host to many domestic and international matches.Apart from this, the city has numerous attractive places and sightseeing, which makes it an ideal tourist spot for travellers.
Places to visit
Chhatbir Zoo is one of the most famous tourist place which is situated on the Chandigarh Patiala road. It is also known as the Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park and Spreads over an area of 200 arces. The major attraction of this zoo is the Royal Bengal Tiger. The zoo is home to around 950 species of animals and 85 types of resident as well as migratory birds.
Gurudwara Amb Sahib
Gurudwara Amb Sahib is one of the most famous historical Gurudwara which is situated in the sector 62 of Mohali. The Seventh Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib ji visited this place to fulfill the wish of his devotee. The place also commemorates meeting of Guru Har Rai with his famous Sikh Bhai Kuram, a Labana trader.
Mohali Cricket Stadium
Mohali Cricket Stadium is one of the most famous stadium in Mohali which is popularly known Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. It is one of the largest stadium in India having a seating capacity of 45000 viewers. It is also home to the Kings XI Punjab, one of the teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Gurudwara Mata Sundri
Gurudwara Mata Sundri is one of the most famous historical Gurudwara of the Sikhs. It is located in Sector 70 of Mohali. It is historical site visited by Mata Sundari, Baba Deep Singh and Bhai Mani Singh while his trip to Delhi after evacuation of Guru Gobind Singh, his family and Khalsa Army from Anandpur Sahib.
