Introduction
Yamunanagar is a very green, clean and prosperous industrial city which is situated in the state of Haryana. The Yamunanagar town is the headquarters of the district and is also known for the cluster of plywood units. It is bounded by Himachal Pradesh state in the north, by Uttar Pradesh state in the east, by Karnal district in the south, by Kurukshetra district in the southwest and Ambala district in the west. The three main tehsils of the Yamunanagar district are Jagadhri, Chhachhrauli and Bilaspur. These Tehsils are further divided into six development blocks which are Bilaspur, Sadhaura, Mustafabad, Radaur, Jagadhri and Chhachhrauli. It is an industrial city having metal, utensil and plywood industries blessed with Shri Gopal Paper Mills and Saraswati Sugar Mills. Sugarcane, rice, wheat and garlic are the major cash crops of the city which offers a source of livelihood to the local people. One of the renowned attractions of the place is Adi Badri which captivates large number of tourists round the year.
History
The Yamunanagar District came into existence as District on 16 october in the year of 1989. The large part of the district lies under shivalik foothills. The Yamuna river which is one of the biggest river of India is running in this district, that is why this place is known as Yamunanagar.The place was earlier known as 'Abdullahpur' which was later renamed by the city's eminent people as Jamnanagaar and later on as Yamunanagar. Before Independence, it was a small village with population concentrated around its Railway Station. After partition of India, many refugees from Punjab in Pakistan chose to make Yamunanagar their new home, and in the process adding to the culture of the town. The area where land was allocated to the refugees later developed into the model town area of Yamunanagar.

Yamunanagar is also a well known Tourist destination in the Indian state of Haryana. There are many historical monuments, beautiful temples and forts in the city of Yamunanagar. Places To Visit
Kalesar Wild Life Sanctuary
Kalesar Wild Life Sanctuary is one of the most famous Tourist place in Yamunanagar. It spreads over an area of 11,570 arces. It is located in the east corner of the district. Many species of the wild animals are present in the forest. Khair, Shisam, Tun, Sain & Amla and many more different varieties of trees can also be seen in the forests.
Ch. Devi Lal Herbal Natural Park
Devi Lal Herbal Natural Park is one of the prime attraction of Yamunanagar which is located on the Yamunanagar-Ponta Road. There are many numerous plants in the park having healing properties is there on the mountains of the Shiwaliks. The function of the park is to preserve, produce and supply these healing plants in the state of Haryana.
Adibadri
Adibadri is one of the most popular tourist place which is situated at a distance of 40 kms away from the Yamunanagar. It is located on the foothills of the Shivaliks. It is a picturesque location, abundant with natural beauty and tranquility. Adibadri Narayana, Shri Kedar Nath and Mantra Devi Temples are located here.
Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir
Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir is one of the most famous temple which is situated on the Bilaspur-chhachhruli road and also attracts large number of devotees. This temple is dedicated to Hindu God Hanuman Ji. This temple has a Vigrah of ShriHanuman Ji with five faces, contributing to temple's name, Panchmukhi (five faces). It is believed that wishes come true here, after the 20th day of the Diwali on the Occasion.
